This bowl has a cupped-in rim, making it unique in shape.  Fostoria Glass did not attach a specific purpose for this item; therefore, it is generally considered to be a bowl or serving piece.  I have also seen it used as a vase, which was beautiful.  The purpose of the Cupped Bowl should be left up to you, the collector.  With a little bit of creativity, this bowl can serve multiple functions.
