These Bonbon’s are from the American Whitehall line.  The Peach Bonbon will be added to the gallery in the future.  Fostoria American made 3 Toed Bon Bons (spelled differently) in Clear Crystal, Canary, Blue, Amber, and Ruby.

The toes on the American Whitehall Bonbons are peg-like, with a straight appearance.  Genuine Fostoria American Bon Bons will bear softly tapered toes, that flare out slightly.  This distinct difference is one of the easiest ways to tell the two items apart.

American Whitehall produced many Candy Boxes & Covers – in clear crystal, and in a wide variety of colors.  Later in production, around the mid-1990’s, they started packaging this item in a “Confections” box.  This new packaging was more visually appealing; however, the glass pattern was still American Whitehall … and the glass was still made by Indiana Glass.

The first pitcher produced in the “Whitehall” pattern was the 64 oz. Pitcher (also known as a Jug).  The Whitehall 64 oz. Pitcher was available in clear glass and assorted colors.

The 51 oz. “American Whitehall” Pitcher (pictured here) was the last style pitcher made in the Whitehall line.  It was mainly produced in clear glass; however, it was also made in a Peach color – which was part of the popular American Whitehall Peach Collection.

The Whitehall and/or American Whitehall pattern produced many Coolers over their long production run. They were made in a wide variety of colors – as mentioned above.  Many of these colors are pictured below.  All of their Coolers, no matter when they were made, will have two mould seams.  They can be found in two variations – with slightly flared rims (the oldest) to straight rims (the newest).

The Whitehall Cups were originally sold as items in sets.  Cups were part of the 2-Pc. Snack Set, the 2-Pc. Cup/Saucer Set, and the festive Punch Set.  In today’s world; however, you will find that many of the Cups have been separated from their original sets, and are now used as stand-alone pieces.  Of all the sets that included the Cup, the Cup/Saucer Set is the most difficult to find today. The most plentiful set appears to be the 2-Pc. Snack Set, which has an indentation on the Snack Plate to accommodate a Cup.

Colors:  Clear Crystal, Amber, Blue, Gold, Olive, Riviera Blue, Ruby Flashed Rim, Smoke Gray, White Milk Glass (very rare)

During their production years, Whitehall referred to these pieces as either their 10 oz. Tumbler, the 10 oz. Beverage, or the 10 oz. Footed Water.  While it is true that the majority of these glasses will have flared rims, they were also produced with a straight rim.  It is these straight-rimmed glasses that look most like the Fostoria American 9 oz. Footed Tumblers.
