Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide
It has given me much pleasure in contributing to the history of the Fostoria American line of glassware. My newly published book goes into considerable detail on the American pattern. While this resource website has published many photos and details on regular-production items from the American pattern, the Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide delves deeper into the subject.
Less expensive learning tools are certainly available. In fact, this website is a complimentary tool – totally free for those that wish to learn and benefit from it. The Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide is a different type of learning tool, and stands proud amongst all the other resources currently available.

Over ten years ago, when I first debuted the www.FostoriaAmerican2056.com website, I began sharing details and photos with fellow collectors of the American pattern. Most of the photos and information have all been complimentary to those who seek it. It has been a pleasure to share this knowledge with others. I take immense pride in the fact that the website is easily accessible wherever a collector’s journey might take them, giving quick and accurate information when needed. Having this free portal is invaluable and allows a collector to enjoy their treasure hunting without the need to carry a pamphlet or book with them.
The Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide is a different type of learning tool. This newly published book goes into greater detail and delves deeper into the subject on Fostoria American glassware. In addition to the items that were regularly produced (and there are many), this resource also has chapters on Mounted Glass Specialties, Colors, Sets, Look-Alikes, and the American Lady Pattern – No. 5056. There are a total of twenty-six chapters, all enclosed in a beautiful hardbound color book. It is a very substantial book, boasting 392 pages (two of which are blank “Personal Notes” located at the back).
This volume of work also features an Appendix A, which lists the cataloged items in chronological order – including the item’s description, approximate size, and years offered in the catalog. A Color-Code Reference Sheet is featured, along with Appendix B (a listing of the colored items that were shown in official Fostoria catalogs). Whether you are just starting to learn about the Fostoria American pattern or are a seasoned collector, the pages of this resource volume are sure to bring joy and knowledge throughout your collecting adventure.
In summary, the Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide is not like any other publication currently on the market. It is not an inexpensive book, nor was it easy to produce or print. It is not stapled together, it is not flimsy, it is not black and white, it is not copied material, it is not just drawings or illustrations, it is not fuzzy or hard to read, nor is it full of old and outdated material.
It is just what the subtitle implies – an In-Depth Review and Identification Guide.
