Item Number: 128
Approximate Size: 8½” L
Production Dates: 1915-1985
The Small Boat is one of the longest-running production items in the entire American line. Two different-sized boats were produced, this smaller one – and a bigger 12″ size. The overall length measurement of this piece is 8½”, including the handles. Boats, as opposed to the American “relish” dishes, are open in design. They have no dividers or compartments within the dish.
While the Small Boat was primarily made in clear crystal, there was a very brief period of time from 1925-1926 when this piece was produced in a beautiful shade of green. This was an option for both the small and large-sized boats. The green-colored boats are not common items, as they were only made for about one year. Every now and again you might find a boat in another color; however, those would be very hard to find – a whimsey or an item produced in an experimental or trial color.
